Boxers are good. I went all through middle school and high school wearing boxers and having the same problem but it was better with boxers than tighter underwear. Boxers give you room to adjust things as and where you need to, Other tighter types of underwear will make it more difficult and you'll have to do more adjusting. People will figure it out if they see you reaching down your pants trying to fix things if you wear tight boxer briefs or something. Calvin Klein makes slim boxers that might be a good choice. There just a bit tighter than regular full cut boxers like Hanes but still give room to move. Jockey Tapered boxers are also comfortable for this sort of issue too. Do them as a separate load. If they're 90% cotton it's very likely they will shrink noticeably, unless they've already been washed many times then they may shrink less or not at all. Hope this helps. Also, if you're trying to shrink them cuz they're worn and stretched out, then they probably won't shrink much.
